About The Author - Gabriela Nalven
I always had a passion for art and a love for animals. That helped me overcome my difficult situations and challenging circumstances. I was born with cerebral Palsy in Manhattan but never let anything stop my determination and fearlessness.
Driven to follow my dreams, I moved to Florida when I was just 15 years old. There, I participated in the Bold Beautiful contest in West Palm Beach, where I got my whole body painted by a professional with an airbrush.
That bold experience brought an eye-opening realization: being different can be beautiful and extraordinary. The other life-changing part of life in Florida was that I discovered the world of bearded dragons.

One day, I packed my bags and embarked on an adventure with my bearded dragons, starting a mini road trip from Oregon to Florida. That journey sparked my idea of writing a children’s book about the importance of embracing diversity and preventing bullying.
My first book, Athena: The Adventures of a Fearless Dragon, is inspired by my travels and sends an inspiring message that it’s essential to accept people the way they are. What makes us different makes us unique and irreplaceable.
